We believe that this strange looking device is a Leevers-Rich BBC Acoustic Baffle and Suspension Ring For a STC 4021 Apple and Biscuit Microphone or Western Electric 630A Mic.

In reasonably good condition with some rusting and discolouration. I'm not absolutely sure how it was mounted, and fitting attachments are not included.

There are no makers marks but it is thought to have been made by Leevers Rich, a manufacturer of sound-recording equipment and tape recorders based in London, UK, and supplier to the BBC.
